1. What is included with the cabin? All linens, bath towels, wash cloths, dish towels, dish cloths, dishwashing liquid & or dishwasher liquid. All cooking and eating utensils (pots, pans, baking sheets, skillets). All cabins have a microwave, coffee pot, toaster, blender or mixer. We do ask that you bring beach towels to use at the lake and not take the house towels to the lake.
2. What does seasonal lake frontage mean? These particular cabins sit in a cove and may not get lake access until the lake is full usually the last week of May and running thru the first week of September. During drought situations or off season, however, you will need to check with the reservationist about lake levels on particular cabins if it is not listed on that cabin page. 3. What does year round lake frontage mean? A. That particular cabin will have access to the lake year round.
4. What are check in and out times? Check in is at 3 p.m. and check out is at 10 a.m. We must be strict with these times so our cleaners have time to get around to all of the cabins and have them cleaned for the next guest. Earlier and later times for check in and out are available for an additional cost.
5. Are there any smoking cabins? NO. All of our cabins are non-smoking cabins, but there are smoking areas outside at all cabins.
6. How large is the lake? Douglas Lake is a 44,000 acre reservoir with over 550 miles of shoreline.
7. Are there boat rentals on the lake or can we bring our own boat? Yes you can bring our own boat, and there are also several Marinas located on the lake where you can rent boats and other watercraft, launch boats etc. Some of our cabins also have private and or shared loading ramps and this will be indicated on each cabin page.
8. Does the cabin have a private dock? Yes, all of our cabins have private docks.
9. What is needed to make a reservation? We require a deposit of 1-nights rental to reserve. This we need to by credit card. We can hold it and have you to overnight a deposit by cashiers check if you do not have a credit card. The balance is due 2 weeks prior to your arrival. We accept Visa/MC/Discover, cashiers checks or money orders.
10. What is your minimum night stay? We have a 2-night minimum on all reservations excluding holidays. There is a 4-night minimum for holidays.
11. Where are the cabins located at in relation to Dollywood, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg? We have cabins on both sides of the lake. The cabins on the south side of the lake (Sevierville) are approximately 15-20 minutes from Pigeon Forge and the ones on the north side (Dandridge) are approximately 40 minutes. Each cabin page will show which town they are located in.
12. Why does payment and all paperwork have to be done in advance? All of our cabins are set up so that we can allow you to check in yourself without wasting valuable vacation time coming to an office and going through the process. After a reservation is made, we will send you a confirmation that you sign and send back to us, we will then provide directions to the cabin and after final payment is received, we will give you a key code to use to check in with.
13. Can you fish in this lake and is a license required? Yes, there is some great fishing on Douglas Lake. There are several species of fish. A license is required for fishing. You can visit the State of Tennessee web site to get more detailed information about licenses and requirements.
